Principal's Message

Dear Husky Families:

I hope this letter finds you well this summer.  I want to welcome you to the 2018-2019 school year!  It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction serving as your new Principal of Horizon Community Middle School.

LaoTzu, Chinese Philosopher once said, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." Ironically, my journey in education began over 20 years ago in the halls and classrooms of Horizon Community as a social studies teacher. Here, for ten years, I learned many lessons about the virtues of interacting with amazing students, committed staff, and an engaged community while working to ensure Excellence: Every Day for Every One! These formative lessons shaped a solid secondary educational career as I continued my professional  journey serving as a high school teacher, dean of students, athletic director, and most recently, an assistant principal at Sky Vista Middle School.

My passion for education grows stronger and stronger with every step.  I look forward to partnering with you to ensure the academic, social, and emotional well-being of your child every day.  As our amazing staff recharges for the upcoming year, all of us at HCMS are eagerly anticipating a rigorous, relevant, real-world learning experience for all students in a safe, accessible environment through which they will thrive and grow. As your principal, it is very important that all stakeholders feel as if they are a part of the Husky family that models Perserverence, Achievement, Connectedness, and Kindness: our P.A.C.K. promise.

I look forward to beginning our journey together and being part of future steps your child will embark upon in successfully navigating the celebrations of early adolescence. To a community that has given me so much, I am honored to serve and repay in kind, Excellence: Every Day for Every One!

Feel free to contact us with any questions or needs you may have 720-886-6103.

GO HUSKIES!
