EDGE
Students interested in participating in the EDGE program must complete an application.  Applicants will also be screened for:

1.    Advanced reading ability as measured by CSAP and MAP scores.
2.    Advanced math ability as measured by CSAP and MAP scores.
3.    All qualifying students new to EDGE will participate in an interview, a   writing sample, and an algebra aptitude assessment.
4.    Students maintaining a 3.0 or higher GPA and acceptable test scores continue in the program from year to year without reapplication.


EDGE Qualifying CSAP and MAP Scores:  EDGE students display evidence of high academic achievement as indicated by the most recent test scores of advanced or high proficiencies on CSAP reading and math tests.  In addition percentile scores of 85% or higher on district MAP tests in reading and math, are used for qualification. 

Horizon is the only middle school in the Cherry Creek School District to offer the EDGE program. This rigorous program has consistently provided local high schools with National Merit Scholars as well as valedictorians by the end of their high school experience. Former EDGE students attend prestigious colleges and universities across the country.
