Welcome to Horizon Community Middle School
The middle school years are an exciting time for students and parents.  The transition between elementary school and the high school is filled with changes: intellectual, physical, psychological and emotional changes.  The faculty and staff of Horizon Community Middle School are committed to making this a positive and productive time for each student.  The Cherry Creek School District supports a solid middle school program that moves students toward intellectual maturity in a safe environment so that they can become caring, compassionate, and contributing citizens of the United States and our world.
What do Horizon teachers expect of Horizon students?

Horizon is a performance-based school. Students are held responsible for mastering the facts and concepts, completing assignments, handing in assignments, participating in class, being prompt, and prepared.
Horizon will provide parents with:

  • Information about how your student performs as measured against other students in our state  through the Colorado CSAP test, MAP test, and the Explore test.

  • Information about how well your child is meeting the State Standards reported as advanced, proficient, partially proficient, or unsatisfactory.

Our goal at Horizon is for students to have the following skills to be successful in the 21st century!

  • Communication and information skills
  • Thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Interpersonal and self-direction skills
