Important Traffic Notice

Hello HMS parents, friends, & staff.

At Horizon Middle School we strive to be good neighbors in the community and hope we are leading that example.  Over the last four weeks, we have seen an increase in safety concerns in these areas.  There have been several instances in which drivers have stopped on the crosswalk, which poses a danger for our pedestrians and the crossing guard as they cross the street. If you are interested in being a crossing guard, please contact us at 720-886-7139 or our main office at 720-886-6108.

As it can be hard to see if you are over the crosswalk, your best bet is to stop well behind it.  Please understand that if your car is impeding the crosswalk in any way, it forces pedestrians to walk closer to oncoming traffic, which can be dangerous. Thank you for your understanding and support to keep our students safe!

Finally, if you are accessing our lower lot near the fire station we ask that you be mindful and not block their entryway. Our first responders are asking for your help and support in keeping these lanes clear of traffic at all times. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility with this very important issue.
