Choir

This semester-long class is a performing choir which is open to any sixth grade student who enjoys singing. A wide variety of music will be studied with an emphasis on singing in unison and in two-part harmony. There will be one required evening performance towards the end of the semester. The units in this class will take place simultaneously as songs are learned.

This year-long class is a performing choir which is open to any seventh grade student who enjoys singing. A wide variety of music will be studied with an emphasis on singing in unison, in two and three-part harmony, sight-reading and vocal production. *Concerts will be scheduled throughout the year. Attendance at these evening performances is required and included in students’ grades. This course is for students who intend to continue the study of music. The units in this class will take place simultaneously as songs are learned.

Prerequisite: Audition Winter of 7th grade. This year-long class is a performing choir which is open to eighth grade boys and girls. Students study vocal production, two and three-part harmony, and sight-reading skills. The class provides a greater challenge for students who have musical experience, but welcomes anyone interested in auditioning for the first time. Music of all types is performed. *Concerts will be scheduled throughout the year. Attendance at these evening performances is required and included in students’ grades.
