Instructional Framework

At Horizon Community Middle School, our instructional framework combines practices of Professional Learning Communities (PLC) with Culturally Responsive Education (CRE). The six themes of Culturally Responsive Education are relationships, cultural identity, vulnerability, asset-focused factors, rigor, and engagement. Through this framework, we ensure that all students have access to relevant and meaningful learning experiences as they prepare for success in high school and beyond.
