Family Engagement
Philosophy: We believe that all families should be welcomed and encouraged to participate in all aspects of the schooling experience of their children. Family members are encouraged to volunteer at Horizon Community throughout the day, on committees, and at school events.
Meeting Dates & Topics for 2026-2027:
September 10th, 2026 5:30-6:30pm: Middle School Success Night
This event is for families of 6th grade students and any additional students who are new to HCMS. The purposes will include supporting families in accessing critical online learning platforms (PowerSchool, Schoology, Talking Points, Lexia, etc.) and learn about the extensive systems of support offered at HCMS.
September 17th, 2026: Presentation of School Success Plan (during Parent Teacher Conferences)
September 30th, 2026: Peek at the PACK, 8:00-12:00
November 5th, 2026: Chat with your Grade-Level Administrator (during Parent Teacher Conferences)
January 27, 2027: Husky Highlight Night
February 10th, 2027: Student Equity Showcase (during Parent Teacher Conferences)
April 7, 2027: PTCO & School Success Plan Review
May 6th, 2027: Multicultural Night
